London Getaway Options" is a five-day immersive event hosted by the Society of Genealogists, running from Monday 8th to Friday 12th September. Designed for both seasoned genealogists and newcomers, the event combines informative talks, expert-led sessions, and unique historical outings, offering a rich blend of learning and exploration.
Each day begins with registration and a warm welcome, followed by a series of themed lectures and hands-on sessions. Attendees can customize their experience by choosing from multiple sessions each day, ensuring a tailored and engaging itinerary. Midday sandwich lunches are provided, and there’s ample time for library access, expert Q&As, and one-on-one consultations.
Afternoons feature optional heritage excursions to iconic London sites such as the Dickens Walk, Highgate Cemetery, St Cuthbert’s Church, Brompton Cemetery, and the Ragged School Museum, among others. These curated outings connect family history with the city's rich cultural backdrop.
