Introduction to Latin for Genealogists (Part 2)

In this six-week course you will build on your knowledge of reading Medieval Latin, used in official documents between 1086 and 1733 in England.

Using materials provided free by The National Archives, Christopher Whittick will guide us through twelve lessons covering tenses, pronouns, adjectives and adverbs and much more.

There will be additional examples from genealogical sources to enable us to get to grips with the basics of Latin records. Studying with a group of like minded family historians, this course is aimed at those with some experience of reading Latin, those needing a refresher and those who took the Introduction to Latin course.

Each week, Christopher will teach two lessons and provide guidance to complete follow up activities.

This course uses materials provided by The National Archives (TNA) which are freely available at https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/latin/. TNA have kindly given permission, but are not receiving any payment or benefit from this course.
