Subsidised British Emigration to Canada 1812-1932

The lecture looks at five emigration schemes that brought British subjects to try their fate and fortunes in settling the new country of Canada. Some schemes were short term and others schemes paved the way for family to join the original settlers. The Selkirk Settlement, The Petworth Emigrants, Home Children, Homesteading in Western Canada, and the Peter Robinson Settlers.
